Why Choose Us?
How To Choose An Effective Therapist To Treat OCD:
When dealing with mental health issues, one should always take the highest precautions when looking for help. The internet is full of claims for miracle cures. Unfortunately Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is complicated and the therapist need to know the disorder extremely well. It is not a “one size fits all” condition and can rarely be treated successfully by these so called miracle cures.
When choosing your therapist to help you with your illness, you should always follow some simple guidelines:
- Check out their credentials
- Do they belong to a recognised ethical body?
- How experienced are they at treating OCD?
- Have they had first hand personal experience of OCD?
- What type of therapy do they use?
- What is their Theory of Training?
- What is their success rate?

Some genuine quotes from our clients:
This form of therapy differs from other forms in that it actually gets you to face your fears instead of just avoiding them
The most helpful thing that I will take away from this experience, is it’s OK to feel discomfort and be uncomfortable. It’s not going to kill me, it’s just another emotion. It’s not real, the feelings will pass. “I’m a river and the leaves are my thoughts, I’ve just got to let them flow by, Feel the emotion”.
I have found this week extremely empowering to highlight to me what it is that is going on when I experience obsessions and carry out compulsions. It has armed me with the tools to tackle OCD and instilled in me that anxiety is not something to be feared and I will not get better from my illness without personal commitment. The therapists take a personal interest in our well-being and show genuine concern towards giving you the courage to become more important and greater than your OCD.
I found sitting and talking to somebody who has had OCD and understands exactly how I feel has helped me so much. I no longer feel a freak and somebody who ends up a wreck. I feel stronger, more confident and i’m convinced I can deal with my OCD. I’m going to put it right and make my life real again.
